Ginger Lees (6pts) top scored for the home side while Ron Johnson recorded a 9pt 3 ride maximum for Wembley Wembley 31 Wimbledon 22 (Southern League) - 8 pts each for Colin Watson and Jack Ormston with a 9pt maximum for visitors' Dicky Case - 4 Jun 1931 Coventry 26.1/2 Wimbledon 36.1/2 - 13 Jul 1933. Cecil Walker (West Australia) - rode 7 meetings for Coventry in 1930 Jack Parker and Lew Lancaster - Jack Parker (Coventry, Southampton, Belle Vue) was one of the greatest ever speedway riders, a pioneer of 1928 who rode until 1953 ; Lew Lancaster rode for Coventry between 1928 and 1932 Bill Stanley - rode for Coventry in 1929 and 1930 Arthur Tims - Coventry, 1929-1934 Cyril John Deeley, who rode for Coventry 1929-1932 Perhaps the greatest of them all, certainly one of the most highly regarded - Tom Farndon (Coventry, Crystal Palace, New Cross), died on 29 Aug 1935 after a track crash at New Cross 48 hours earlier Stan Greatrex - rode for Coventry 1930-1933, also rode for New Cross, and later became co-promoter at West Ham

This is a collection of memorabilia from the trip in the days when travel to Poland was not as easy or common as it is today. Details of the trip - £44 from London, including 5 nights in Poland and 2 overnight rail couchettes Rail ticket, London Liverpool Street to Harwich, then Hook of Holland to Poland Currency exchange - £5 (worth £50 today!) @ 57.2 zloty/£ - in 2004 £1 bought just 6.16 zloty! Accommodation (very basic) was at the Almatur International Student Hotel Travel was by trams or trolleybus A commercial postcard viewe of The Town Hall (Rathaus), Wroclaw Some of us ventured to a football match at Slask Wroclaw - more soldiers than public, don't know who was playing!
